Faber is located in the sought-after address of Ombersley, Worcestershire. This charming village is known for its black and white timber-framed buildings, and benefits from its stunning countryside situation, surrounded by farm fields and parkland.
Despite Ombersley’s picturesque surroundings, the village is ideally-situated for practical living too. Less than 6 miles to the south you will find the cathedral city of Worcester, with its quaint streets and historic architecture. To the east, Droitwich Spa offers a host of amenities, whilst Kidderminster is also conveniently located to the north along the A449.
Main Street, Ombersley
Ombersley is steeped in local history and has 57 listed buildings, from charming Tudor cottages to impressive Georgian houses.
The village boasts a number of amenities, with its own medical centre, dental practice and fuel station. Checketts Fine Foods offers a deli, butcher’s, fishmonger’s and coffee shop. Ombersley also hosts a selection of pubs and restaurants, including the Venture In and The Cross Keys, each serving a mixture of real ales, craft gins and fresh locally sourced food.
You’ll find further amenities in nearby Droitwich Spa. The town has several supermarkets, including Waitrose and Morrisons. And there are two farm shops selling a variety of freshly grown produce.
The area offers activities for all ages. Get back to nature on a revitalising country walk, take a canal boat trip or step back in time on the heritage steam railway. Enjoy summer fun at the outdoor pool or visit the Aztec Adventure park for a range of exciting water sports and outdoor pursuits.
A mile to the west of Ombersley you will find the hamlet of Holt Fleet, which sits on the bank of the River Severn. Holt Fleet is a prime spot for fishing and has two pubs where you can enjoy riverside drinks and dining.
Ombersley has an active local community with something for everyone. Its Memorial Hall hosts a regular events programme, offering theatre, arts, yoga and pilates. Meet with friends at the coffee shop or try new dishes at the themed food events.
The community garden and play park is a space all ages can enjoy. And, if you like sports, there are cricket and tennis clubs to join.
For young families there are eight schools within a 3-mile radius of Faber. Of these, two have achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating and the remaining six are rated Good.
